How I Learnt Learning...!!!

                      “How I learnt learning.”

“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” –Sydney Harris.

Its purpose is to create minds and personalities that would mould generations into creations.

However, moulding a generation doesn’t need uniforms; nor does it demand waking up early in the morning. Read on...

            Good Morning Continues…

“Good Morning” has yet another aspect. BAGS! We call them School bags. Bags-to-help carry books. But now, books aren’t the only load. There are plenty of other things school demands children to carry.
Nine hours of school require lunch, breakfast and snacks, a water bottle to add to the burden.        Read on...

                 Let’s All Assemble…

The cries and byes ceased as the one thousand two hundred children, of different grades, different intelligence levels and different personalities entered the school. Each student, be it a first grader or a tenth grader, carried a monstrous or rather gigantic school bag. Read on...

All assembled..Now the SUFFER begins..

I would be exhausted already even before the assembly began. The previous day's stress wouldn't be relieved even after a six hour sleep. I'd never sleep in the afternoons, because it was the only time I would get to play. The load of assignments would be never ending. Moreover, the continuous comprehensive evaluation made me study almost daily.

                         English Vinglish

If it is English Vinglish at school it is definitely a fine, prolific, classical murder. That too, professionally executed, licensed murders. It has nearly a million witnesses to it. It is done by eligible qualified degree holders. And the best part, it takes place daily. The victim is definitely a bad chap, since no one allows it to die.Read On...

                  Do We Need This Nightmare???

EXAMS have a purpose, but is it served???

Exams, maybe the only reason for which, I, or maybe we, were sceptical about home-schooling. It would mean moving away and missing a complete experience.
For a typical childhood life, without that one thing called-EXAM is like a school without exams!! Confusing?

And Announcing...The Next Performance...

“And announcing, the next performance, by grade 7! They have prepared for the dance since two months…missed precisely what they came to school for…tired and drained their bodies for a two minute performance…and not actually learned any kind of...Read on...

We Homeschool, Yes. We Homeschool Not.

“It’s not that I did not learn anything from schools…I learnt a lot…that is the very reason I home-schooled.”

When dad had told us about the idea of home-schooling…ever since I had known enough about it, I was excited…I talked about it as if I already was a home-schooler…like I needn’t go to school the next day…I had already home-schooled myself in my mind, and in a way I had already manifested the coming six months…Read on...

When the Journey Becomes a Destination..

“You are a child only once.”

It’s enough, I am home-schooling.

Waking up early in  the morning, standing in assembly, being a part of futile and stupid annual days, travelling in jam-packed buses, giving useless exams, lifting heavy bags and all such things came to an end once we began home-schooling...Read on...
